UCD Fashion Show is back, and we want Y O U !
We are delighted to announce that this year's Fashion Show is in aid of Jigsaw - The National Centre for Youth Mental Health. Jigsaw is a charitable organisation supporting young people's mental health in Ireland through free one-to-one therapy sessions and workshops within local communities. They aim to challenge the social stigma attached to young people and their mental health, and they also conduct research and offer education and training programmes surrounding mental health.
This could be you strutting your stuff at one of Ireland's largest student-run fashion shows in Astra Hall in just a few weeks; all for a great cause! The show dates have been announced to take place on February 15th and 16th.
Come join us for our casting sessions open to all UCD students on January 24th and 25th in the Old Student Centre (Quad Room) from 11am to 6pm. It is requested for the ladies to wear minimal makeup, plain t-shirt and jeans, and don't forget to bring along a pair of heels! As for the gents, just wear plain t-shirt and jeans and your best man-pout. (Visit the Facebook event page here for more Deets)
Involvement in the Fashion Show gives you a chance to get out of your comfort zone and meet a lot of new people. I first became a part of the show last year and I enjoyed every bit of it - from the auditions to the shows, the fittings and the late-night rehearsals, the launch night and the after party.. and the after after (.. and after..) party!
Myself and anyone who have been involved can tell you that the show easily becomes a fave highlight of the year - and I'm so glad I've made a lot of friends from it that I still see frequently beyond the stage curtain!
I hope for you to come aboard and help us raise awareness and funds for Jigsaw and Youth Mental Health. So save the dates and audition, use social media to help get the word out, and have the best of fun!
I'll see you there,
